I was cleaning this printer and I found a little white plastic part
sitting on the input tray. I cannot find any part that matches it in
the exploded views in the service manual, or on HP's site. I've asked
this question there with no response.
The part is a square tubular part, with two prongs on the other end of
the square opening. It is maybe 1 inch long, maybe 1/3 inch wide. It
was clean. It looks like some kind of a support, and obviously snaps
in somewhere.
So far, I've taken the cover and the two sides off, and I cannot see
anyplace it might fit into.
If anyone has any knowledge of where this part goes, please let me
know.
Thank you.

The obvious question is: Is the printer functioning properly? If so, hold onto the part for future
reference. It is within the realm of possibility that it is just an extra that fell into the works
during the assembly process, and, therefore, has no particular purpose at this time. If the printer
is NOT functioning properly, the purpose for the part should be readily apparent....luck...

Where one can find a service manual for 1220C?
