Strat up

I recently reformatted my hard drive and installed xp pro.
Since then, every time I switch the pc on, at the end of
windows start up, the windows installer program tries to
run twice. Any ideas what is wrong?

What's it trying to install??
This may be a hint.
Whatever it is trying to install is somehow corrupted.
Uninstall and reinstall whatever it is.

All it says is windows installer, preparing to install,
runs its green bar three quarters of the way across the
page and then disappears??
Does this twice -its so annoying
