Strange weather gadget problem

For over a week, the weather gadget has been showing exactly the same
informaion (temp of 3 deg. C with the Raindrops picture). When I switched it
to show temp in Fahrenheit, the information is correct (currently 46F with
the Cloudy picture). Switching back to show Celcius has the wrong
information again. This problem has only recently started (around the
weekend before Xmas). Closing the gadget and restarting it has had no
effect.

I'm in the UK.

It could be a date issue. The "uptime" gadget also functions
incorrectly in the UK if the PC is left running overnight, as some
arrogant whatnot in Microsoft assumed that the entire planet followed
the ridiculous M-D-Y format. The Uptime gadget reports something
silly, like 87 days uptime, if left overnight.

There's a fix for the Uptime gadget. I'm guessing of course, but there
could be a similar fix for the Weather gadget.

Jim

Yeah i fixed the Uptime gadget! I've been running the weather gadget since
RC1 with no problems til now so I can't imagine it being a date issue.

Thanks anyway.

I haven't seen this problem and I've always used Celsius. Maybe this is a
UK-specific weather data issue.

Just to add another bug to the list --

I was using the weather gadget on my desktop and notebook systems. It was
set for the same locale on both machines, and it was showing 5 degress
Fahrenheit difference in temp. readings! Tee-hee! Not ready for prime time.

Which location do you have it set to? I'll try it out here to see if its
server side or if something has gone wrong locally on your machine.

I've set mine to Dunblane, GBR. It's currently showing 3C.

I wonder if yours says the same?

Jim

It's currently set to Swindon, GBR (the top one on the list when you search
for Swindon)

Either is valid I guess - it's rained all afternoon here, except the
times where the rain was falling as slush :-)

Jim

But 46F doesn't covert to 3C (more like 8C) and the raindrop graphic has
remained the same for over a week! I think my weather gadget has gone all
weird. Hopefully when I get the RTM Home Premium release next month it will
be ok again

I'm now seeing 3/39.

Mine is now showing 45F/raindrops, and 3C/raindrops in Swindon! The Celsius
reading seems to be stuck! It seems to be ok if I change locations (ie
Redmond is showing 40F/4C), and London is showing 46F/6C

microclimates? lol

If I remember correctly from Heritage of Kings, weather gadgets require
sulpher... and lots of it. Have you inserted any sulpher into the cup
holder on the front of your PC lately?
