Lisa

hello:

I am creating a powerpoint presentation. one of the
slides, when viewed in normal edit mode, is shifted to the
left of the screen, whereas all the other slides are in
the middle. I could not find any text or boxes sitting
over the edge of the slide. Anyone know what might be the
cause?

Thanks so much.
Lisa

In normal view go to the slide and select an object then press the tab
key a few times and see if a shape appears on the right hand side.

There is an object somewhere off to the right of the slide. Zoom way out to
perhaps 25%. It may even be invisible (no file and no line). Click on a
spot outside of the slide and then press the tab key until you see something
selected outside of the slide. Then press delete to get rid of it, if you
like.

easier, no need to find offending object:
select everythin on screen that you want
Ctrl X (cut the good stuff)
ctrl A (grab everything)
del(delete it)
ctrl v (put back the good stuff)

Actually there is a good reason to find the "offending" object. It may be a
sound file that you definitely want to keep, or it may be a slide title that
you want to see in the outline, but not on the slide. The object may have
just been dragged too far off the slide, causing the slide to shift left.
In that case the object can just be dragged closer to the slide, but still
not onto the slide.

ok,

so do this:
ctrl A

everything is selected, your missing object will be somewhere along the
outer edge of the bounding box
