lets say i want to power more than 4 (HDDs, CD/DVD drives) in my
computer but my power supply only has 4 power slots/plugs for
them....is there anyway for me to hook up another PSU to use for them
or would i have to get a new bigger/better PSU?

A bit more clarity would help.

Your power supply should have at least 5 molex connectors for IDE/ATA/CD drives
depending on the age. Newer ones may have only have 4 molex connectors for
IDE/ATA/CD drives and 2-4 Sata drive power connectors.
You could replace the power supply with a newer one, but you don't mention what you
want to add or the purpose of a specific need.

As long as you don't exceed the power output, you can buy power plug
doublers from any good computer store. Basically 1 plug connected to two
sockets.

There is an example picture here, of a Molex "Y" cable, to
allow more hard drives to be connected.

The power supply does have some limits, and those cables aren't
the only necessary ingredient. Each hard drive increases the load
on +12V and +5V.

I used a converter that converts one socket into 3 sockets. As it's one
piece it looks a little neater than having a "forest" of Y connectors
and all of their extra wiring.

Why ask here? What does this have to do with XP? NOTHING.

Ask elsewhere

Get a clue, this group is for hardware questions for people using XP, last
time I checked a power supply was hardware.

Yes, it's hardware. This question, though has nothing to do with the
OS, dick, so it does NOT pertain to this group.

Now go away or I shall be forced to taunt you a second time.
