Strange query behavior

I have a query that returns 15476 records.
I decided to turn it into a make table query.

When I open the query and filter one column with a certain value I get 5
records.
When I do the same filter on the table I get 4 records.

....Yet, both my table and my query have 15476 records!

Has this ever happened to anyone.

What's even stranger is when I open the query I can only visually find 4
records that match my "certain" value I filtered earlier.

Can anyone explain this one?

Instead of filtering the query using menu bar tools, put in the criteria in
the query.

I don't much trust the filter tools especially on a query. You are asking a
question of a question. I'd rather just ask one question with proper criteria
in a query.
