strange problem with passing query parameters

Hi,
I have a strange, and intermittant issue with passing the parameters from a
query to a report. Followed the instructions from here:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access/HA010550231033.aspx

and in some of my DBs it works, some others it does not work. Where the
parameter is supposed to be it comes out blank, when it does not work.

I am prompting for a start and an end date, and I am sure that I have no
typo's.
In fact on a few of my DB's a report that worked fine yesterday, it comes up
blank today.

anyone ever hear of this?
I am using access 2000, fully patched.

I found the reason for this strange behavior - I think-

I was testing my DB's with "test data" which I would change, delete,
beat-up, etc....
instead of using "real data" that needed to be preserved.
This strange behavior only happened when there was NO data in the report. I
thought it would show these dates no matter what the data was, but I was
wrong.

So to recap, I think this only happens when the report has no data. No Data
= No Parameters printed.
