Strange problem in startup...

I have already tried using msconfig. When I deselect one
of the TWO startups that show, it either does nothing, or
disables both (effectively).

I am well versed with computer tech and Windows XP, but
this one stumps me. I found someone with the same
(unresolved) problem using google.com

Not sure about the shortcut thing but....

Try looking in your startup tab under msconfig to see what programs startup
on boot. You have two entries for the same program.

Go to run, then type 'MSCONFIG' and look under the startup tab for programs
that are to be started on boot.

What programs are these?

Also delete the entries from x:\\Documents and
Settings\all users and default user and your own name.

A program in any of those 3 directories will (Not 100%
sure) startup at login.
