When I click on most any WebPages link on my computer hard drive, I get a
dialog box with information like the following:
"Windows cannot find 'http://www.cedarnet.org/jnation/Index.html'. Make sure
you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file,
click the Start button, then click Search".
After the dialog comes up, the proper Webpage then opens up.
This does not occur when I am already out on the net_ just on links on my
hard drive.
I am using Windows XP with Firefox browser.

Jack,

I'd say the it's not a Windows problem. IIRC, there was a fix for the Firefox URL association issue, if you can check their support/forums.

It seems to me that you ought to know Windows is not a
browser. When you haven't started the browser, windows
tells you it can't open the location, and then starts the
browser. You would not see that message if you start the
browser first. What is the problem? You got to the sight
anyway!

Jack's response: Ever since Windows and Internet Explorer was released,
there has been a Favorites folder with internet webpage links stored in
them. Just as other users, I frequently launch a webpage from there. Have
you not used this great advantage Mr. Anonymous?
