Hi All, I have a Win2k3 env. with two DC and 4 member servers and 2 SQL2k
Servers.
The member servers run custom Windows Service Application which make
operations on the SQL Servers.
Sporadically I see my Services failing and the error message is
[0x80004005] Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a
trusted SQL Server connection.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

After few minutes I restart my Custom Windows Service and it works..!

I ran a gpresult v on the member server and saw that at the same time there
was a GPO update to the member server

Questions
=======
* I suspect that a GPO is breaking connection to the DC coz the SQL Login
uses Trusted Connection
* Is there a way I can disable GPO updates to the member server?

I find it strange...

I have only seen this when using trusted connections between domains and not
in a domain.

Have you checked error messages on your SQL-server(s) because I suspect it's
those machines that closes the connection...

About your questions:
1. A gpupdate should not break any connection.
2. You should find the real cause to the problem instead of "creating a new
one".
