Strange network problem

My network consists of 3 computers: a laptop and 2 desktops. All running WinXP - 2 Pro and 1 Home. There are files and folders shared on all the computers. The problem is this: whenever I go to view the network to access any of the shared files on from the desktop computers, I get the error "mshome is not accessible..message if the laptop is not on. However, (the strange part) if it's on, they can be accessed without any problem. Do anyone know how I can get this working properly without having the laptop on? All the PCs are using the free version of ZoneAlarm and have been configured properly to allow access from one to another. I'm using a trusted IP range of 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.255. Also, the Computer Browser, Server, and Workstation services are running.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Wy

Wy,

I'd diagnose the problem using logs from "browstat status", "ipconfig /all",
"net config server", and "net config workstation", from each computer. Read
this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download
