Pete

When XP shuts down I get a brief message something like: THIS DRIVE IS NOT
READY FOR USE, BE SURE IT IS CLOSED, CHECK "A" DRIVE.
Now, there is no A drive on my machine!!
What is XP talking about?
-Pete

Thanks. But I am using nod32 antivirus. I can't see any settings that
scan the floppy drive ('A')
on shut down. Anyone else use NOD32 and can correct me??

Disable floppy drive scanning at startup and shutdown in your antivirus
software.

Hi,

Can't help you there as I don't use that software. You might try thier
(NOD32's) help.

Hi Pete!
Open Nod32, under "threat protection modules" highlite AMON, on the
right side of the window double chick "setup" a new window will appear,
click on the detection tab, next under the media options uncheck "Diskette"
whick is your non-existant A drive and ok your way out.
Hope this helps.

P.S. Once I had to contact NOD32 support and to my surprise I recieved an
answer within about 10 minutes (no I'm not kidding) and one of the solutions
worked.

To get rid of the message, under AMON I unchecked the non existent "A"
drive. That didn't do it. Then I unchecked the "scan boot sector under
shutdown" (only). Bingo, no error message about "A" drive.

Glad it's fixed.
