Strange Layout problem

Hi

I dragged the divider between the folder pane and the header/preview panes
across to the right. The dividing line now doesn't allow me to click-drag
any more. I now have a huge pane on the left, with two small panes, one
above the other, on the right. Makes it barely usable now to read
mail/messages.

I have tried various things in the View>Layout dialog, but nothing seems to
allow me to get the drag cursor when trying to narrow the folder pane.

Any pointers to a solution?

It can be tedious on occasion to get the double head arrow to appear.

Why not close the folder list and enable the folder bar, click on it for the
folders to show when needed only? Thus more screen space.

Hmmm, a workaround that I would wish wasn't necessary as I prefer the 3 pane
layout. I absolutely get *no* double head arrow at all. This must be a bug.

Hi Les.

First, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if there WERE a bug preventing you from
being able to grab that bar; when it comes to WinMail, nothing would
surprise me anymore. But it isn't a symptom I've heard of, up to now. With
all due respect, my hunch is that you're having the same trouble I'M having:
My screen resolution is set to 1920x1200, and the ONE SCREEN PIXEL that our
generous, wise friends in Redmond felt was necessary to make our e-mail
handling a joyful experience, is just too minuscule for the precision that
my mouse provides.

This is not a SOLUTION for your problem, but for a work-around, try this:
Temporarily reset your screen resolution (right-click Desktop > Personalize
Display Settings) to something huge, like 800x600 ... then see if that bar
is grabbable under those conditions, and resize at will. Then go back to the
screen resolution you prefer.

I've looked for a way to adjust the Registry, to make these grabber-dividers
thicker ... so far, no luck.

Thanks Bill, I managed to find the drag point when at 800x600 resolution.
Funny though - now I have the divider back to where I want it I can 'grab'
the drag point without problem. When I put it back to the troublesome place,
I just cannot latch on to the drag point at all. When it's anywhere except
the max, it's easy to grab onto. Strange!

If you right click the Desktop and go to Personalize then you have the
option on the left to adjust the DPI . That might help with the one pixel
line.
