Issue just occured today. I have 2 Windows 2000 SP4 servers (different
locations, different ISP's) that also act as terminal servers. This morning,
on both servers while in a terminal session, you can launch IE but it just
stays blank and you have to end task. We've run Ad-Aware, SpyBot, and MS
Malware Detection software without finding anything. When you open the
properties of IE and click the Connections tab, it hangs and you have to end
task. We also ran a full virus scan without finding any infections and
rebooted several times. This occurs for all TS users including the
Administrator. If we go into Control Panel and open Network & Dialup
Connections, the windows and you have to end task. By the way, Firefox works
OK.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

I can offer only very little help, but I can say that this same thing has
effected 60+ of my servers. We are currently working on it now. We are in the
registry looking at class id's among other things. You will find that going
into the Communications tab under Internet Options also freezes the window.
You might also see Power Meter on shut down. We are also seeing no one able
to connect to the TS server for a good 10 minutes after it reboots.

We have a mixed environment of NT4, W2k and W3K servers running TS. Only the
W2K's are effected. We think it's a target attack/exploit but right now we're
more worried about getting things fixed and then figuring out where it came
from.

Peace
