Strange Grouping of Contacts in Catagory View

If a contact belongs to more than 1 catagory they are suddenly appearing in a
catagory that is all of their catagories, plus their stand along catagory.
This is different, they used to only appear in the individual catagories.
Please give me ideas on how to solve this issue.

Can you give us a little better picture of what you mean by "a category that is all of their categories"?

If a person belongs to 2 or more catagories I will see a new "Catagory"
called the name of all three. Example:

Greg belongs to the catagoies 1, 2 and 3. If I use the Current View By
Catagory I will see Greg in 4 places. Catagories: 1, Catagories: 2,
Catagories: 3, Catagories: 1, 2, 3. The last one is the incorrect one. It
takes and groups all people that are in the same multiple catagories
together. I hope this explains it for you. Even more, I hope you have a
solution - I have been working on this issue for WEEKS.

Outlook doesn't have any feature that would automatically create a new category from multiple categories. If you open the item, do you see just the three categories, not the fourth, aggregate category? Are they separated by commas or semicolons?

You said this changed suddenly. What did you change on your machine in that time frame?

Just by coincidence, I found the problem. This user began Syncing his
Blackberry when the problem began (I did not make the connection before). I
found that reapplying the catagories "fixed the problem". Unfortunately when
the user resynced the problem came back. Since I now know it is the Sync I
removed Catagory from the Sync criteria and the problem is now permenently
gone. I don't know what about the sync casues the problem but I know that if
I do not sync the catagories and I change the existing people, the problem
goes away. WHEW!!!
