Strange Fonts/Distorted web pages in IE6

I did a fresh install of Windows XP SP2, installed the video drivers, and
when I opened a browser window, the screen is all distorted, almost unusable.
I tried reinstalling SP2, re-installed the fonts, used several different
versions of the video driver, etc... At this point, I don't really have any
idea of what exactly the problem even IS. The rest of Windows seems to work
perfectly fine, it is just the web brower(s) that seem to be affected.

Lacking a good description of the problem, I did a screen capture and posted
it online at http://www.mapsnet.org/test/distorted.jpg

Looks like your default font size is way too big.

Hi,
A few things to look at:

Internet Options> General> Accessibility. For most users, nothing should be
checked.

Control Panel> Accessibility Options> Display. Make sure that High Contrast
is not checked.

Some desktop themes can cause trouble. Disable the theme.

Hope this helps,

Thanks, it was the High Contrast option that was causing the grief...
