on my C: drive. C:\6ccb4c7531f4633c5012df42c7\msxml4-KB927978-enu.log
Its a Microsoft product (I think) but I don't know where or when I got it
and whether I need to keep it. Can anyone tell me how to figure it out? I
have a number of other folders and files I don't recognize...how can I learn
how to tell what is junk?

It isn't strange, it is an update for Msxml4.0 from MS, you can delete this
safely if you wish no hard as it is a log file telling you the installation
and how it is gone, you can read it by open it with Notepad.

Nass,

Do you have any idea what msxm14.0 is? MS evidently installed it on my
system since that is a log of the installation. I googled it and got
nothing.

Hi Rex,
MSXML: is a Microsoft core services is a set of services that allow athoer
application to run on your computer and perform and act as a parser to some
XML codes for some games websites and applications running on your compute or
from CD/DVD.
Such application written in different languages (code) like Jscript,
Microsoft Visual Studio, XMl based applications also support other
application in other languages code.
Open Help and support on your computer and type in MSXML and you will get
more info about.
You put it wrong in the search engine it is not MSXML40 it is (MSXML4.0).
