Hi. When I right click on a forms field and choose Filter
For then type in All S* (searching for entries like All
Saints Primary School) I get message - The Syntax of the
subquery in this experssion is incorrect. Check the
syntax ...... I have to reduce the search criteria to Al*
to avoid the message. Anyone know whats happening here?
Thanks, Noel

Thanks Art but why would I want to do that? I don't have
to normally. This is just a simple Filter procedure that
users perform every day and which works for every other
example. Its just filtering for All S* that gives the
message. Cheers, Noel

Does the word "All" work in a different context, for
example " all F*"? I'm thinking that the "all" may be a
reserved word and that may be causing the problem.

Hope this helps

Hi Art. No, it doesnt like All in conjunction with
anything else. Probably is reserved word related. Strange
that Access cant set that aside when doing a filter like
this. Anyway, thanks for the help. Ill just tell the
users to avoid All in future when filtering. Cheers, Noel
