One of our employees has these .exe files in Startup.
What are they and can they be removed:

xfpkuchmhs.exe
eoze.exe
jubmwhrjt.exe
sakucpzh.exe

Thanks!

These are not Windows XP files. To identify them, look up each one with a
search engine (Google, MSN, etc.)

Thanks for your advice, but that is what I did first.
Using google, I could find nothing on any of these.

Firstly, items in the Startup folder of the Start menu are ordinarily
shortcuts, not actual executables. Be that as it may, whether they are
shortcuts or executables, you can right-click on the executable and select
Properties. That will sometimes give you enough information to figure out
what something is.

If all else fails, then rename the files, restart your computer, and see if
anything happens. Do this for one file at a time.

My guess would be that they are viruses or spyware. You can scan each file
individually with your virus scanner (which, of course, has updated virus
definitions) and you can install one of the many spyware detectors available
on the Internet. Two popular choices are AdAware and 'Spybot Search and
Destroy'.

Thank you, Tom!

.

Do you mean in the msconfig startup list?
They are probably some programs but not windows files.
You can not delete em but disable them from the startup
list by unchecking them. If a program doesn't work after
that..just put the checkmark back in.
