In the past couple of days, my computer has been acting up. Yesterday, a
message popped up saying c:/windows/system32/Isass.exe has terminated
unexpectantly, and the system will shutdown in 59, 58, 57... Then today it
was the same message, but the file was c:/windows/system32/service.exe.
Does anyone know why i'm getting these error messages, and how i can stop
them.

A few ideas in order of what I'd do:
a) Run a full antivirus check.
b) Run disk check-up and repair
c) Defragment
d) Reinstall (I reinstall Windows 1-2 times per year at least).

One reason is covered here:

You may have the blaster (or some other) virus.
I ran 'isass.exe' on Google and found a site where the
following info was posted. Due to similarities in certain
fonts (e.g., Arial) the numeral 1 (one) can easily be
mistaken for the letter l (L). People who write virus
programs take advantage of this since most people won't
notice the difference between 1sass.exe and lsass.exe, or
somename.dll and somename.d1l.

Here's the post.
"lsass.exe is a valid MS Win file associated with IPSEC
services, and possibly more as it runs on my machine even
when the IPSEC service is not started. isass.exe is (I
gather from reading this and other www forums) assoicated
with a Trojan malware program. Have to watch those l and i
distinctions, as they say dot the i s and cross the t s."

Information on blaster can be found by running Google and
searching for: blaster virus.

If it does turn out to be an infection then once you get
the problem solved be sure to take care of the basics or it
will just happen again.

Good luck.
