Hi, We started receiving a strange error message on the machines on our
domain yesterday. We our working on web applications written in ASP.NET, as
well as using Microsoft CRM. The Microsoft CRM application requires you to
log in using windows authentication. The log in prompts you for a username,
password, and domain. Starting yesterday, we received the following message
after logging in: -2146893052 (0x80090304). We discovered that if we leave
the domain name blank when logging in, the applications functions correctly.
We also received this message on a couple of our ASP.NET websites (Only on
pages that communicate with SQL Server)
Our domain server has begun reporting an unusually large number of errors in
the system log and application log. I'm no networking expert, but
unfortunately my organization does not have any networking experts around to
help us out. Does anybody have any ideas what the root cause of this error
could be? Below is a sampling of the types of errors that we have received
on our domain controller:

SChannel - A fatal error occurred while creating an SSL server credential.
W32Time - This Machine is a PDC of the domain at the root of the forest.
Configure to sync from External time source using the net command, 'net
time /setsntp:<server name>'.
NetLogin - The DNS server for this DC does not support dynamic DNS. Add the
DNS records from the file '%SystemRoot%\System32\Config\netlogon.dns' to the
DNS server serving the domain referenced in that file.
Directory Service:
The Inter-Site Messaging Service SMTP Transport plug-in failed to add the
following SMTP routing domain:
9e53dfda-2898-41d9-a67e-96ef74347e7a._msdcs.MANAGEPOINT.NET. This domain is
needed by the SMTP service in order to accept incoming mail using this name.
Other replication partners will receive errors when sending mail to this
name until the problem is corrected.
Please verify that the SMTP service is installed and functioning correctly;
also verify that ADSI is installed and working on this system.
As a workaround, you may try to add the domain manually using the SMTP
Service Manager.
The error message is as follows:

NNTPSVC - The server was unable to add the virtual root '/' for the
directory '/Internet Newsgroups' due to the following error: The parameter
is incorrect. The data is the error code.

use are not responding.
NTDS General - The attempt to communicate with global catalog
\\CRMDOMAIN.MANAGEPOINT.NET failed with the following status:
The RPC server is unavailable.
The operation in progress might be unable to continue. The directory
service will use the locator to try find an available global catalog server
for the next operation that requires one.
The record data is the status code.
DNS - DNS Server has updated its own host (A) records. In order to insure
that its DS-integrated peer DNS servers are able to replicate with this
server, an attempt was made to update them with the new records through
dynamic update. An error was encountered during this update, the record
data is the error code.
If this DNS server does not have any DS-integrated peers, then this error
should be ignored.
If this DNS server's ActiveDirectory replication partners do not have the
correct IP address(es) for this server, they will be unable to replicate
with it.
To insure proper replication:
1) Find this server's ActiveDirectory replication partners that run the DNS
server.
2) Open DnsManager and connect in turn to each of the replication partners.
3) On each server, check the host (A record) registration for THIS server.
4) Delete any A records that do NOT correspond to IP addresses of this
server.
5) If there are no A records for this server, add at least one A record
corresponding to an address on this server, that the replication partner can
contact. (In other words, if there multiple IP addresses for this DNS
server, add at least one that is on the same network as the ActiveDirectory
DNS server you are updating.)
6) Note, that is not necessary to update EVERY replication partner. It is
only necessary that the records are fixed up on enough replication partners
so that every server that replicates with this server will receive (through
replication) the new data.
DNS - The DNS server received a zone transfer request from 69.8.133.3 for a
non-existent or non-authoritative zone managepoint.com..
