Strange Driver for GeForce Go 6200

I've never seen this before... but Vista only sees 32MB of RAM on my video
card... when it definitely has 128.

Could this be because of the IRQ conflicts (it's clashing with the Mobile
Intel 915GM/PM Root Port???!!!) or is it simply because the drivers are still
betas?

Could you please describe your system? CPU, chipset, videocard, etc...

It is a lot easier to help people if these are known.

I had exactly the same problem. Using the Microsoft Vista drivers included
with the OS shows only 32MB. I replaced the driver with the one I was using
for XP and it shows 128MB. However, there is NO option for enabling AERO. Its
completely gone.

System is:
Centrino 1.73GHz
Intel 915PM
1GB RAM

Hey Mark,

Exactly the same problem as Koi King. There was no option for aero when i
installed the Nvidia driver. IN FACT the performance rating of the video card
decreases from 2.3 to 1 with the nvidia driver.

My specs are as follows:
Pentium Centrino 2GHz
Intel 915GM
1024 RAM
Nvidia Geforce Go 6200 (128MB)

Thanks very much in advance.

Thanks Mark,

I have:

Centrino 2GHz
Mobile Intel 915GM Chipset
1024 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 6200 (128MB)

Just as Koi King wrote... replacing the vista driver with the the nvidia
driver will mean two things:
1) Gaming Memory jumps from 32MB to 256 MB (i actually have 128!)
2) Even though the Gaming Memory seems to increase, the performance rating
decreases from 2.6 to 1.

As the performance rating is 1 with the nvidia driver, aero is no longer an
option.

So the question is now - Does it matter if the Performance Rating states
that i have 32MB Graphics Memory when i actually have 128?

Thanks very much in advance

That's probably because you used turbocache in XP to allocate 128 MB of
video RAM using your system RAM.

I Have same card geforce 6200 256mb and let windows use its driver for it,
but it says that the video card is slowing down performance

You do have a 6200 with 128MB of onboard memory and not a 600TC card with
32MB onboard which can support up to 128MB using shared memory correct?
Also in your BIOS have you disabled the onboard graphics chip or set it to
not be the primary chip?
Have you checked in device manager for the current status of the graphics
adapters?

I don't think it's a driver issue. I have that card in my Acer Tablet, and
the display issues were largely hammered out between the betas and the RC.
When I did try installing Vista Ultimate RTM it was one of the few things
that didn't fail.
