Hi,

I have one basic question. My printer seems to works quite well except
sometimes (15% of the time...).

When I print a text base paper, most of the time, it works quite well,
but sometimes, it just print with strange characters or mix characters
together, and the result is illegible . I think the problem comes when
the printer has already printed too much in a too short time, but I
have no way to be sure. I tried to re-install the driver, but I still
have this problem.

Maybe one of you has already encounter this problem, and if so you may
have the answer to my problem !

The usual cause of this problem is indeed a corrupted or incorrect
driver. However, it can also be caused when the starting information
that develops the "handshaking" between the computer and printer gets
scrambled, so the computer doesn't properly communicate with the printer
and sends the information in the wrong format or printer language. This
can be caused by a conflict in the data flow due to another device in
use, or a port not opening properly, or even a bad cable or connection.

Make sure you have installed the most current printer driver for your
printer (from the manufacturer's website if possible).

Make sure the cabling between the computer and printer are securely engaged.

You didn't mention which interface you are using with the printer. If
USB it might be worthwhile to try another USB port and another cable.

I've seen this when printing corrupted PDF files. My guess is that your
printer is not at fault.
