Strange boot up

My hp procurve switch that allows multiple users to access the
internet through a cabel modem died. I replaced it and so far it will
ping just fine, but I am still not able to connect everyone to the
internet. However a new problem came up that I have not seen before.
When I rebooted the server found it found a new device, I went ahead
(thinking this might be a part of the solution) and found it was a
multimedia/audio device. There is no way this is a part of my server
and it never found it before until today. I can't understand why it
the server found it. I cancled out of it but of course will come up
each and everytime I have to reboot the server. Anyone have a clue
how this happening?

What happens when you try? Are you running the latest firmware on the
switch? Is it a managed switch? If so, make sure you lock down all switch
ports to a specific speed/duplex setting rather than using autosense (and do
the same for all server/workstation NICs to match).

What audio device do you have, that it's detecting? If you look in device
manager, anything look odd? If you let plug&play detect, try to install it,
and then finish (even if it can't install it), it shouldn't pop up that
message again, but look in device manager to see what looks fishy anyway.
