Strange Blacked Out Area

When I open Add & Remove Programs there appears a blacked out area about half
way through the list. The program list continues after the end of this very
long black area. Any ideas about what's up with this?

I have a Dell Dimension 8300 running Windows XP Pro SP2 with all the current
updates. I run various spyware tools and have Norton IE 2005.
