Hi there,

I've put together a completely new system based on a MSI KT6 with a XP2600
cpu, 80Gb PATA Maxtor disk, cd-rom and cd-writer, FX5200 vga and floppy
drive. As an OS I'm using Windows XP Pro with SP1.
Now there is one thing that is very strange; the floppy drive doesn't work
properly. It has been replaced already but still it doesn't work all the
time.
One minute the floppy drive reads a diskette and just shortly after I get an
error message stating that there is no medium present.
On very few occasions the systems asks me to perform a format to make the
floppy readeable.
I don't think this problem is because of bad floppies.

Does anyone have a clue of what is going on here?
Thanks in advance,

Pat
