Do you have a hosts file? C:\Windows\hosts. No file extension. Check for an
entry for "www.adobe.com".

Is that domain entered in the "Restricted" sites zone in Internet
Properties > Security?

The only "hosts files I have are Hosts.sam and Lhhosts.sam.
Both are .sam extensions which, if I'm corect, are not active.
Do not have anything in Restricted Site Zone.

Have NAV and Zone Alarm but have no problems with this XP system, just the
98se.

Even uninstalled ZA to see if that may be the problem.
