Straight cuts in Photo Story

Is there a way to make straight cuts from one photo to another in Photo Story
3?
I've tried setting the transition leangth in disolves to 0.0 seconds but it
won't save that way.

uncheck the option to start the picture with a transition... it's in the
motion settings...
