I re-installed W2K, but can't remember the trick for having the computer
shut down without first showing the "Safe to Turn off Computer" screen

Missing APM drivers?

Probably:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]

"PowerdownAfterShutdown"="1"

John

Ps: If not there add it, it's a REG_SZ.

I assume these would be included in the original W2K installation disk.
How do I know if I'm missing them or not?

OK. I noticed that APM was not enabled, so I enabled it and things work
OK now.

Thank you.
