Stopping popups after SP2, Adaware etc...

I am running XP home edition with SP2 installed. I have run trojan finder
ad-aware and continur to have popups in IE windows. I have searched and tried
everything I can find to stop these intrusions any more ideas?
 
Pop up windows aren't viruses, spyware or adware so none of those programs
will stop them. SP2 gives IE a pop up blocker that is built into IE.

From the Tools menu of IE, you will see the Pop Up blocker.

Make sure the IE popup blocker is enabled on Internet Options, Privacy
tab. If that is already enabled and you aren't seeing the IE Information
Bar, then the popup isn't coming from IE, it is likely coming from
adware still installed on your PC.

Make sure you are using Ad-aware SE Personal Edition, as it is the
latest. Also use Spybot Search & Destroy. After using those programs, if
you are still bothered, go to www.spywareinfo.com and read about how to
download and use HiJackThis to create a log that you can submit on their
Malware Removal forum to get expert advice on your problem.

There are many other forums that do the same thing. Computer Cops, Tom
Coyote, etc. ... They all rely on HiJackThis logs to analyze your system.
