When Running Windows Defender (i tried both beta and the latest release) it
stops on C:\Windows\hh.exe and the time elasped stops counting. When I click
the Stop Scan button nothing happens. The only way to get it to close is to
End the Process. I left it go for two days on the file, and it won't continue
on.

Hello Josh,

Whatever you do, (installing and updateting or unistalling) always as a
administratºr.

Report a possible spyware problem to Microsoft
Submit it via the process noted in Windows Defender Help, or here:
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/support/reportspyware.mspx

Also Virustotal offers a free service for scanning suspicious files using
several antivirus engines.
One way to get further information is to find hh.exe on your system,
and submit the file at one or more of the following sites:

http://www.virustotal.com

http://virusscan.jotti.org

Here are intruccions for the sumision (sometimes thre URL refuse to work)

Do a Google search on hh.exe

As a bypass, under Windows Defender: Tools->Options->Advanced options and
put hh.exe in the do not scan these files or locations.

I'm having the same problem only when i click to start the scan the time
freezes up, regardless of what file...yet if i choose custom scan, it scans
fine

Do you hang up when you do a Defrag of the "C" partition? Clcik My Computer.
Right click the icon for "C" and click Properties. Click Tools->Check Now
and then check the box to automatically fix file system errors. Reboot and
see if chkdsk finds/fixes anything.
