STOPPING DISK CHECKING IN XP...

Hi,

I want to stop diskchecking from automatically occuring after a bad
shutdown. plz help in this regard..

From a command prompt;
chkntfs /d

fsutil dirty query C:
to query the dirty bit.

Fix the problem that's causing the "bad shutdowns." The chkdsk runs
automatically *only* when problems are detected, not after every bad
shutdown.

You're trying to "stop" a process that might let the machine trash itself if
you do succeed in it. I'm not sure you CAN stop it, but even if you can,
it's the wrong thing to do.
