I have just had to replace my motherboard. The old one came with a card
reader. I connected this to the new motherboard, but got a Warning:
"The card reader does not recognise your motherboard. Please contact
your card reader vendor.".

Can't complaint about that, but now I have disconnected it, I still get
the message. Has anyone any idea how to stop it appearing?

You probably damaged the motherboard...the pin assignment may have been
different and you caused the connector to short out. Only fix is to replace
the motherboard.

Did your card reader come with an install disk? Its a long shot since most
ive seen dont. If it did try uninstalling the software from add remove
programs.

How did the card reader attach to the board? Was it USB Firewire or what?

Thanks. That worked. Obvious really. My excuse is that I expect drivers
to be unloaded automatically. I only expect applications to require
unloading from Add/Remove programs. I should have remembered that there
are many drivers that work this way. (It was an internal USB connection
incidentally).
