Stopping automatic switch to logon screen

Here's my problem:

I'm performing some video conversions that take a long
time to process, but when I leave XP running without any
direct input from me, it eventually shifts back to the
initial user logon screen, which causes a program crash.
How can I disable this "time out" function?

Unfortunately, I don't think that will solve my problem.
I have no screen saver enabled, but even so, the "On
resume..." box is already unchecked. Maybe I should
enable a screen saver and uncheck the box....?

Sometimes there is also a CMOS System Setting for screen saving. Maybe
check that too?

What it's called depends on the mfg of the BIOS and whatever a reseller
might have had put in. I am on a laptop at the moment that calls it a
"screen saver" in the CMOS system settings. On my desktops, it's not called
that, and is instead in the power saving settings for turning off the
drives, screens, etc.
You're right, though, I should have phrased it differently - I made it
confusing if they were looking for the words I used.
