Stopping animations from playing

I have macromedia Flash installed and it causes animations to play on web
pages.
These are very irritating but I can't get them to stop. I tried unchecking
the play animations option in internet options but the animations still play.
If I get rid of flashplayer, some pages don't work properly.

How can I pervent animations from playing automatically.

Third party software can prevent flash advertising from animating.
Otherwise, if the web page does not allow you to prevent the animation,
there isn't anything you can do short of uninstalling Flash.

You may be interested in these tools to control Flash:

Flash Toggler -
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Flash-Toggler-Download-1715.html -
puts an icon in your systray to enable/disable flash with a click. Use the
Mirror link. (Sorry - author's site has been down awhile, had to find this
via another source)
TurnFlash - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/tflash2.html
Flash and Pics Control -

disables images on a site for even faster downloading.

Or, if you want a do-it-yourself method:

Or, for .reg files that are already done - see

Flash programs are not those animations.

What are you imagining should happen? ; o

Always disclose your OS when you need help please.
XPsp2 users could disable the Flash extension with Manage Add-ons tool.
(Alt-T,A) Other OS could use a tool called BHODemon (from DefinitiveSolutions)
to accomplish a similar objective.
