I have a Windows 2000 Pro desktop, and I have several services installed
that I want to stop by using a command prompt. I know to use the NET STOP
command, but I cannot figure out what the name is on some of the services to
complete the command. For instance, I know how to stop the printer spooler
service by typing in NET STOP SPOOLER. That's great if you know to use
SPOOLER, but I have no clue on other services. Please help.

Thanks

Ray is correct with all of his suggestions.

In addition, you can use sclist.exe or netsvc.exe - both are included in the
Resource Kit. I prefer the output of sclist.exe myself.
