Every time Norton 2002 finds a virus in an email it pop up a window to tell
me, thus stopping mail pickup. I have it set to automatically quarantine if
it can't fix it, but I still get the window. I want it to just quarantine
and move on so my mail continues to get picked up. Is there a way to do
this? Lately, as we all know, there are a LOT of virus' out there, and I
get a lot of mail, so this is very irritating. I'm using Outlook.

Thanks

What's gonna happen is that the first email, the one that has the virus, is
acting like a cork and blocking the transfer of any or your other emails
that are queued to download.

What you'd need to do is to go to whatever webmail page your ISP
offers(hopefully, they do!!) and delete the offending message from the
beginning of the message order. After that, whatever emails that were lined
up to download should come rolling into your inbox.

Under Options_E-Mail, select the option for repair, then silenetly
quarantine (or silently delete, if you prefer). That will take care of it.

Andy,

Thank you. Unfortunatly I do not have an option to silently quarantine. It
still requires me to click the "finished" button once the quarantine is
finished.

That's one of the things I like about Nod32 is the silent mode. I get
so much Swen mail that it just deletes the virus without notifying me.
It just appends some text at the end of the email saying it was
infected and dealt with.

Ack.. I know it's in an option in 2003 and 2004. I don't know what to tell
you.

Well, I went to another machine with 2002 on it and it DOES have silent
mode. I evidently have a corrupted install on the machine we were talking
about. I'll uninstall and install.
