I am sure this has been asked but I am unable to find it so, how do I stop
vista from asking me more than one time if I want to run a program?

Rather than negate the built in security in Vista why not look for Vista
compatible programs?

Hmmm, and replace all my software? Not an option.
I have work related software that I have to run and Vista compatiblity is
further down the road.
You would think after a couple of times it asked on the same program it
would know that it was ok. Also, I believe it asked me multiple times if I
wanted to "allow" Office 2007 to install. Wonder if it's Vista compatible.
Bottom line, I really, really, really, really, really want to "allow" this
to be turned off.

I was being a little facetious. I turn it off while setting up a new
computer. Once all the programs are installed uac rarely shows up. I have
one program to sync my Treo phone that throws a uac prompt. Here's some
links on uac, what it is, what it does, and how to turn it on and off.

If you have a lot of programs that are not Vista compatible then why are you
running Vista? I am a big fan of Vista but I have don't recommend it if you
have critical programs that don't support Vista. That would be foolish. Most
programs once installed run fine without causing any uac prompts. If they do
then the program needs to be updated or if you find this bothersome switch
back to XP until the programs are updated. If a program is causing uac
prompts on a regular basis disabling uac may cure that symptom but it may
also hide other deeper problems that will surface later as Vista is updated.

have you tried a COMPATIBILITY mode to see if it would help.
