Stop the pica madness!

I need help, please. My company just put Office 2003 on my
PC, and by default, Word is displaying the rulers in units
of picas. I have gone to Tools/Options/General and changed
the default measurement to inches. Several times. However,
the picas won't go away and the ruler won't change. Does
anyone know anything about this and how to make it go
away. My two trainers don't have this problem so I'm
mystified. Help!
