I have an installer program that is running all the time and I can't find
where it is being started from. Everytime I boot, I have an install trying
to start.

It is not in the startup directory. Is there a place in the registry that
this could be launched from?

Thanks for any help you my provide.

Keep in mind that tinlering with the registry can have catostrophic
consequences with your computer. Always make a backup of your registry
before you do anything.
Here is where it can launch from:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft|Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft|Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft|Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx
or
HKEY_CUUENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft|Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
or
HKEY_CUUENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft|Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

Hi

What is the name of the installer program? Have you had a look in msconfig>startup to see if that program is being loaded from there?

LOL - I did not notice my typo until I saw your post...obviously it should
be "tinkering"

Tinlering with anything is a bad idea.

I also typo'd HKEY_CURRENT_USER
I got new fingers yesterday, and I have not figured out how to use them
yet!!!
