stop stressing my socket

I need to modify the power cable socket on my laptop so that when I
accidentally pull the cable there is no stress placed on the socket. (some
sort of adapter??)

I already broke one laptop this way .. I don't want to break the current one

I have seen some people make 8 inch extender cables.

They plugged it into the laptop and stuck two of those 3/4 inch square
plastic (self sticking) tie-wrap keepers to the case. They then used two
tie-wraps through the keepers to hold the adaptor cable to the case.
