I had downloaded and installed the SP2 and have since
uninstalled it. I found it to be too obtrusive to my
system. I have a satisfactory firewall soulution and
virus scanner, hence don't feel SP2 is necessary.
Furthermore, I don't like Microsoft disabling my machine
from downloading that which I have choosen to recieve.
Example recent Java plugin update from Sun Systems to
view materials from within Explorer 6. Text box appears
saying update is not a signed app that Microsoft approves.

So to sum it up, does anyone know how to individually
disable notifications of Microsoft updates. I don't wish
to disable the function entirely, as most are very
useful. I just don't want Microsoft messageing me
everytime I boot up that SP2 is available for download.

Thanks for any help you can give me.........

Michelle
