I've got some .mp3 files that play when I click
on a hyperlink in my slideshow. I'd like the
associated .mp3 file to play without media
player popping up on top of the slideshow.

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance..

Insert it into the presentation (Insert -> Movies & Sounds -> Sound from
File, or something similar). Then, a small sound icon will appear,
which you can click to play the sound.

If you want a hyperlink rather than the sound icon, here's a method you
can try:
- Duplicate the slide
- On the second slide, remove all animations and transitions
- Create a hyperlink from the original slide to the next slide
- On the next slide, insert the audio file, and choose for it to "play
automatically"
- Drag the sound icon away from the slide

Now, when you click the hyperlink, the slide show will progress, even
though only the sound will be the only noticeable change.

Hope this helps.

I guess I should have explained better.

I've constructed a sound board using powerpoint that is used
to play lots of audio clips and music during the local high school
baseball games. There are lots of sound effects and funny lines from
movies. Most are wav files that play fine but when I click
on a button that hyperlinks to a .mp3 file Media Player pops
up on top of the page of buttons.
I only have one page in my show that is full of buttons that
each play sounds when I click on them. It's pretty cool
and has made quiet a stir at the local games.
Any other ideas to keep Media Player from popping up
on top of the soundboard?
Thanks for your interest..
