Stop IE from opening MS Office documents

One of the most annoying things I find about IE 6.0 is its
wanting to open MS Office documents within the browser.

I much preferred the previous behavior where the document
would be opened directly by the program handling the file
type (Excel, Word or PowerPoint) and I had complete access
to all menu options.

Does anyone know how to turn off this nuisance in IE 6.0?

To configure Internet Explorer to open Office files in the appropriate
Office program instead of in Internet Explorer, use one of the methods given
in this KB article:

Beauty - thanks Brian. I looked for this in the MS
Office "Options" items but could not find it. Maybe
something that should be added at one point. It would
never have occurred to me to look in in the "Folder
Options" property windows from where you can change it
(Windows 2000).

I definitely agree with this problem ... how do we stop MS
products from openning inside IE????
