I cannot find out how to stop the explorer window from
popping up when I insert a CD. I am using Musicmatch to
record multiple CDs onto my hard drive and don't need the
window to pop up. There is no info on this in the
properties of the CD drive or folder options. Can
somebody help???

Right click the CD Drive in Windows Explorer and select Properties,
Autoplay. Here you can select what types of actions happen with what types
of media.

Your answer, Doug, is generic and not applicable to this problem. I
have been asking this question here, as you probably know. Windows XP
Home SP1 (Dell Dimension 4600) ignores all the AutoPlay settings and
continues to behave as it did before I discovered this tab. Likewise,
it ignores other settings in the hardware configuration tabs of other
devices (most notably pagefile and optical drive settings). I'm no
MS-MVP, but I've been an NT administrator and have used Windows for more
than a decade. Why won't XP "take no action" just like the tab says it
should? I don't want any form of AutoPlay...EVER!
