message STOP: 0x0000007B
(0xF79FE640,0xc00000034,0x00000000,0x00000000). I need help. I do not
have the windows xp cd as it came pre installed on the computer ihave
tried the recovery options on it by presing F10 and tried quick
format but to no avail. Also on the bios screen the date is wrong ie.
the day. For today the date says Sat 10/02/2004.
Any help would be appreciated.
Unless you replaced the MB with a factory replacement, your chances of
recovery are not good. If you have information on the hard drive that is not
backed up, your best bet would be to purchase a new hard drive and a retail
or OEM version of XP.
1. Disconnect the cable from the current hard drive.
2. Install the new hard drive as the primary master.
3. Boot from the XP CD and install.
4. Shutdown and connect the old drive as the Primary Slave, or Secondary
Master or Slave depending on your computers configuration.
5. You may need to use Disk Management to initialize the hard drive.
6. You can retrieve your information from the old drive.
