John

Just recently whenever we try to sign on to AOL, we get a
stop error. Either Stop:0X000000D1 or stop: 0X0000044. We
have not added any new hardware or software, only
downloads Quickbooks payroll. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled AOL, when I did this, I was able to sign on
twice and then the blue screen again. The other odd thing
is when AOL signs on automatically it signs on without
error the majority of the time. Thanks for any help.

Hey John,

Both of these stop errors indicate a driver problem.

A D1 is an interupt prioity and a 44 is multiple io requests, probably from
conflicting drivers.

What driver was given on the blue screen as the source of the problem.

Paul or whoever:

I don't see or know how to read the blue screen to tell
which driver is the problem. How do I do that? Thanks
again.

Ok.

Sorry, I assumed you read the 2 stop errors off the screen, perhaps you got
them from the system eventlog.

By default the system will automatically reboot when it crashes (receives a
stop error).

To change this to retaining the blue stop screen go to

control panel/system/advanced/startup and recovery settings

Untick the option "Automatically Resart"

When it happens again, you will get a blue screen showing the name of the
stop error, 5 numbers which all start 0x... and for driver related stop
errors, near the bottom of the generic error text, there will be a filename
ending in .SYS. Thats the name of the driver!

Post all this info

Paul
