Hi

Im running XP Pro SP2

My PC runs pretty well most of the time however by pure fluke I recently
found that I cannot start my system in safe mode.

When I try to boot into safe mode I get the stop error
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

It now happens every time - although Ive not had a problem with safe mode
prior to this.

If I try to startup normally it runs fine.

Ive never come across this scenario before. Its more usual to be able to
start in safe mode when normal bootup fails but not the way around!

I now feel a bit vulnerable that if my system has a problem I cant use safe
mode to get around it.

Any ideas on what I can try to find the cause or a fix?

Its never hapened before and my system runs fine otherwise.

Thanks

Ian
