Windows XP Stop error c000026c

My kids pc is getting the following error when booting up :



Stop c000026c



\??\C:WINNT\System32\lzx32.sys device driver could not be loaded



Error status was 0xc0000102






Using windows 2000 op sys.



I’ve rebooted up in safe mode however it does not respond when the safe option is selected. It does nothing and keeps the blue screen on with the safe mode selection highlighted.



Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i have fixed stop error by rebooting windows 2000 with windows 2000 operating system cd. use recovary console option and on command line type "chkdsk drive /p /r" (don't use cotation). once you are in recovary console enter selection 1 for c:/win and for password hit enter (if you don't have any password)
