STOP ERROR 0x0000008E

When i try to connect via USB an external Hard Disk , Windows XP restarts and
I get the following blue-screen error message:
STOP: 0x0000008e (0xC0000005 , 0xF7B878B2 , 0XF7A2E9A8 , 0x00000000)
sysdrv.sys _ Adrress F7B878B2 base at F7B87000 , Datestamp 4021c60f
This usb-hard disk i use it flawlessly at my office windowsXP to backup my
files.

Try this:
Open your Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) and click Tools >> Folder
Options >> View and make sure show Hidden Files/Folder on system is checked.

Open the Local Search engine and type in:
sysdrv.sys click [OK] and let the doggy sniff for you for the file/folder.
you may find it here:
C:\Windows\System32
Right click it and select properties, does seem genuine from a trusted
vendor?.
If it isnot clear try to:
Rename it to sysdrv.sysOLD and Reboot your computer, what happen?.

Open a run command and type in these commands to see if there is a conflict
in /among drivers :
pstat.exe click [OK]
dmpchck.exe click [OK]
